My new novel, The Cantor's Son is currently being considered for publication. I should hear hopefully in another 4-6 weeks. It's a reflective and humorous coming of age story set in the mid-1960's and in present time.
The Cantor's Son
Sample The Cantor’s Son is both a reflection of the influences of how we end up where we do in our lives, and a coming-of-age story. The story is about Cantor Jeff Reimer, who after an absence of forty-six years, returns to River City, Iowa as spiritual leader of Temple Beth Shalom. This was his father’s first pulpit as Cantor and where Jeff had his Bar Mitzvah. As Jeff re-connects with the congregation and deals with a variety of issues, he also connects with his past and reminisces about the year of his Bar Mitzvah, and the pivotal events and personal relationships that have led him back again, and have made Jeff the man he has become. This is also a humorous coming-of-age story set in the mid-sixties where Jeff fights off the stigma of being a clergyman’s son, and has to contend with Junior High shop classes, B’nai Mitzvah party dances and a semi-reluctant romance with April Blackman. Scarlet Justice: A Western coming early in 2016 from Soltice Publishing. It features the adventures of Northwest Mounted Policeman Alfred Kingsley and American former gunslinger and NWMP scout Charlie Buck as they chase down whiskey smugglers, renegeads and murders along the Montana border in the 1880s.
